Just Stuff

After scrapping this picture for Father's Day, I thought I'd share the actual photo. I so love this picture of my daughter and hubby. She was so tiny when this was taken and can't you just see the LOVE in her Daddy's eyes?? :o) Sorry, I didn't mean to get so mushy!! LOL!

Today, my daughter went on a field trip to the skating rink. She was so confused about what a skating rink actually was. (First time skating) This morning she said, "Mom, I'm gonna be scared". I said why? She said, "Because I might fall!" I told her it was OK to fall and just to get back up and try it again. She seemed OK with that. When I picked her up from school she told me that she fell a lot of times, but got back up and kept skating. She had a BLAST!! I just wish I was there to see it.

Anyway, on another note...my daughter is having such a hard time understanding the different races. It's almost sad and heartbreaking that I even have to explain it to her, but I guess that's just life. It's funny to hear a 4 yr old try to make sense of all the different shades of the African American race. She says Mommy is white, Daddy is black, and she calls herself light brown!! Poor kid!! LOL!!
Smooches xoxo

awwww i love that photo!!!! I remember skating. we havent taken Bella skating yet, Will have to remember to do that.
It is a shame to have to explain that it really is. THis day and age there is so much we have to explain to our kids so young that just aint right. So much out there even that can hurt them at little ages that they shoudlnt even have to know exists in the world.
this is one of those things I wish didnt exist. :(
I tell Bella that ya know what counts is everyone's heart is red. so the rest dont matter.

Terrific picture! Oh, how I loved to go skating. We went every Friday night.
When my boys were younger I just told them that God makes some people short and some people tall, some skinny and some fat, some with straight hair and some with curly hair and some with no hair at all, and he makes us all different colors. Wouldn't it be boring if we were all alike?

That is a great photo. I'm glad your daughter enjoyed ice skating. I think its cute that she calls herself light brown. I would do the exact same thing.

I say, Thank Goodness we look different. I try and teach my kids about the beauty in everyone and that ALL of it is good!
